Dorset Council have some detailed information on childcare funding options, some of which enable you to claim back some costs of your childcare. Other options are funding where you do not need to pay in the first place.

- from April 2024, working parents of 2-year-olds can access 15 hours per (school) week
- from September 2024, working parents of children aged 9 months up to 3-years-old can access 15 hours per (school) week
- from September 2025, working parents of children aged 9 months up to 3-years-old can access 30 hours free childcare per (school) week

All 3 and 4 year old children are eligible to apply for 570 hours of funded early education per year (15 hours per week over 38 school weeks). Funding will start the term after your child's third birthday.

30 hours funded childcare for 3 and 4 year olds
All England resident parents are eligible for 15 hours funded childcare for 3 to 4 year olds (as above). You can check to see if you are eligible for an additional 15 hours.
Your eligibility depends on the government set criteria at the time you apply.
If eligible, you can get 30 hours funded childcare the term after your child's third birthday.
