Early Years Pupil Premium
Our Mission
“To enable all children attending the Preschool to achieve their full potential by the provision of appropriate high quality teaching, resources and training.”
We will use the Early Years Pupil Premium to close the gap between children from disadvantaged backgrounds and their peers. It will close the gap at ages 3 and 4 between the additional support disadvantaged children get at age 2 through the new free entitlement and the additional support they get in school through the school-age Pupil Premium.
Who is eligible for EYPP?
The EYPP is payable to all eligible 3 and 4 year olds in receipt of the free Early Education Funding (EEF). Eligibility for the EYPP will be as set out below;
If a family is in receipt of one of the following benefits;
• Income Support
• Income based Jobseekers Allowance
• Income related Employment and Support Allowance
• Child Tax Credit (providing you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
• Working Tax Credit Run-on, paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
• Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• The guaranteed element of State pension Credit Or if the child:
• Has been looked after by the local authority in care for at least one day
• Has been adopted from care
• Has left care through special guardianship
• Is subject to a child arrangement order
How will we use the funding?
As the Pupil Premium is still a new introduction to Early Years we are assessing our children's individual needs and how we can use the funding to support their learning but some areas have already been identified such as :
How will we measure the impact of the funding?
We will record how the funding has been spent and assess the progress of the children's learning in order to evaluate it's success.

- The purchase of additional resources relating to Narrative therapy in order to support children with speech and language delay.
- The modification of an old office to create a teaching room for small groups or individuals.
- Staff training in particular signalong to support children's speech and language.
